Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The Rodzilla top mounts to all SEB front rests.
No. Nothing on the SEB rest is modified, and all parts removed are able to be reused if desired.
All mounting hardware and wrenches for the rest are included.
No. The top plate rotates on two Teflon bearings with zero play or backlash. The top and bottom plates are hard anodized for low friction and durability. This design allows for perfect target alignment regardless of your base orientation. Just set your rest on the firing line without the need to precisely aim the base at your target. Let the pivoting top plate align you with your target, perfectly for each and every setup. There is no need to lock the top plate against rotation as the rear bag once set, will keep you perfectly on target.
The large bottom SEB sandbag have been replaced with two small sand rails, which are positioned to run lengthwise under the outer edges of your stock. By positioning the sand rails to run with the direction of travel, left-to-right settling of the sand has been eliminated. The Rodzilla sand rails also pivot front to back for consistent results no matter what angle your rifle is setting. Because of this feature, there is no need to ever adjust the front foot of your rest. Because of the very small contact patch between the sand rails and the forearm, the breakaway force is not only very low but very consistent from the first shot until the last shot of a relay. And, for every relay you set up for.
Yes. The ears are easily adjustable for forearm width using individual locking knobs. If you shoot different rifles it only takes a moment to adjust.
No. The sides of your forearm run on four vertical rollers mounted in the ears. This design allows for the rifle to be held with zero left-to-right play and retains very low friction and great tracking with reduced rotation due to torque of the rifle under recoil. Standard rollers provide 1-inch of vertical contact with the forearm. For IBS compliance, just order your Rodzilla 5-Axis top with a set of stepped down, ½-inch tall rollers.
The ears adjust down to accommodate a forearm of 2.79 inches and out to 4.20 inches wide.
The top and bottom plates are precision CNC machined from 6060-T651 aluminum and hard anodized for a lifetime of service. The center bearing plate and the top bearing are solid Teflon. The central mounting hub is UV resistant Delrin. Rollers are also Delrin with beveled tops to protect the stock from damage.
Yes. The Rodzilla 5 Axis Top is 100% compliant with the NRA high power rules. The two sand bags are filled with an equal (by volume) amount of dry, finely divided sand packed loosely enough to compress with finger pressure. Also, the rifle is free to lift out without restriction of any kind.

We are developing a new benchrest version of the 5-Axis top that will accept a conventional sand bag making it legal for all shooting disciplines. The new hardware can be fit to all existing 5-Axis tops for the F-Class folks who also shoot benchrest. Our new benchrest version mounts to our top plate without modifications to the existing plate so customers can convert from one style to the other in a few minutes.
